NOVA ULTIMA - Shock Wave Lithotripter

With the introduction of an innovative rotating reflector, the Nova ULTIMA
shock wave lithotripter is ushering in the new generation of lithotripsy.
The innovative rotating reflector enables treatment to be applied from
either above or below the treatment table. This feature allows physicians
to perform the entire range of treatments, while patients positioning is
either prone or supine.

The optimized shock wave unit incorporates a Tri-Gen generator - an
innovative device that is actually three different generators in one.
Tri-Gen not only allows users to select the optimal voltage level,
but facilitates three energy state levels at the same voltage.
This ability to dually adjust the impact of the shock wave, makes the
Direx lithotripter the only lithotripter available today that can deliver
precise and accurate treatment to the full range of presenting conditions.

Digiscope RX2 imaging system incorporates a 9" image intensifier,
simultaneous fluoroscopy and ultrasound and automatic exposure rate control.
The U-arm can be rotated and adjusted for precise localization of stone position,
with the added capability of combining fluoroscopic and ultrasonic imaging.
The on-line digital image enhancement delivered by dedicated image
processing hardware and sophisticated software,
improves stone visualization and makes treatment
monitoring and recording accurate, easy and effective.
Stone localization and patient positioning
are performed with the aid of the
computerized system, using ultrasonic
and/or fluoroscopic imaging.

The three axis multifunctional table, with its versatile
rotation capabilities, urological tray, stirrups, etc., is
also used for other urological procedures.

Stone localization is monitored by an image processing computer, which
incorporates a user-friendly interface so that treatment delivery is easy,
accurate and effective. Digital patient data files are also available, with
comprehensive patient information always within reach.

The remote control is an infra-red, hand held unit controlling the
Digiscope, ultrasound, motorized treatment table and the triggering
mechanism of the shock wave unit, providing additional flexibility and
ease of operation. The system can also be operated directly from the
panel without the remote control.
