Ho:YAG Laser for Surgical Applications
|
|
Following the considerable progress and improvement in endourological techniques that took place during recent years, Minimal Invasive procedures play a vital role in the urological field. The holmium laser technology has contributed greatly towards simplifying and streamlining the treatment of various urological pathologies that are becoming more and more prevalent and which have a considerable clinical-social impact; such as Bladder, ureteral, urethral and kidney stones, bladder tumors, bladder neck incision, urethral strictures , urethral and ureteral tumors.

The results of laser treatment for above-mentioned pathologies can be comparable, and even better, than those provided by traditional surgical methods. In addition there is a net reduction in operating morbidity and hospitalisation time.
Smart2100 Plus laser delivers power to the tissue varying from 1 to 20 W with fibers at a minimum diameter of 200 micron. The pulsed-mode laser beam is emitted in pulses with a duration of 250/350 µsec, allowing to set the energy delivered to the tissue (maximum of 2 J) and to control the frequency (up to 20 Hz max).
This holmium laser system offers
